BACKGROUND OF RESEARCH
This project aims to measure the effect of on line collaborative inquiry based learning on adult learners as a method for developing the knowledge skills and competency in web design.
The learning experience will involve attending a 2-hour class in web design delivered using inquiry based learning methods. This will involve deciding as a group a series of questions to determine the purpose of the website. The class will then collaboratively brainstorm design ideas for a new website and these ideas will form a project plan. A prototype website will then be developed in class by the tutor as a demonstration covering all the elements of the plan and showing the steps involved in developing web pages. Throughout the process the design principles of web design will be covered and the final example will be made available to the class as a learning resource.
